Getting the Show Back On the Road
On 10 Feb 2022, the McGowan Government launched its $77 million Safe Transition Industry Support Package to support businesses and individuals in sectors most affected by the decision to delay the full reopening of WA’s borders. The package includes nine support programs for the international education, tourism, aviation and events sectors.

Training course floats locals boat
In late 2020, members from Christmas Island were successful in the application for a $3,000 grant from Christmas Island Phosphates to deliver a Recreational Skippers Ticket training course to young residents on the island.

Youth Sail WA Westsail and WA Youth Championships 2021
Western Australia’s annual Westsail Coaching Clinic was held from 25 to 28 September at Hillarys Yacht Club. Participant numbers in 2021 were up in comparison to 2020, with 89 sailors across seven fleets participating in the four-day training program. The great turn out, lead to 12 high level coaches providing outstanding coaching to the youth sailors.
