COVID Restrictions from Monday 11th October

Can I Go Sailing?

Yes! but All participants aged 16+ must be fully vaccinated

How many people can go sailing together?

The only limit to the number of fully vaccinated people on a vessel is the allowable capacity on the vessels' Australian Builders Plate

What if I am not fully vaccinated?

Non-vaccinated adults are limited to one person or more if ALL are from the same household

How far can I sail?

There are no distance rules other than you must have a reasonable excuse to leave or enter Greater Sydney (including Central Coast, Wollongong, Shellharbour and Blue Mountains) boating is not a reasonable excuse until we reach the 80% vaccination mark.

Can I get my boat serviced?

There will be no restrictions around servicing and maintaince other than what’s required in the COVID safety plans at the marinas or place of work.

Can Clubs run sailing racing and training?

Training and coaching activities, including learn to sail, are allowed to take place in compliance with the Public Health Order. No community sport competition is permitted until we reach 80% vaccinated.

Onshore at Clubs

All people attending a club who are aged 16+ must be fully vaccinated.

Outdoors

Clubs can have groups of up to 20 people taking part in sport and exercise outdoors. This number includes participants, coaches, support staff and spectators/parents. Clubs must ensure the number of people does not exceed more than 1 person per 2 square metres of space

Indoors

Clubs can have groups of up to 20 people taking part in sport and exercise indoors. This number includes participants, coaches, support staff and spectators/parents. Clubs must ensure the number of people does not exceed more than 1 person per 4 square metres of space

Multiple group activities or classes of up to 20 persons may take place at a club at the same time, provided the facility complies with the Public Health Order.

Masks must be worn indoors by everyone aged 12+ 

If you are conducting exercise classes indoors, facility operators must have a ‘Gyms and indoor recreation’ COVID-19 Safety Plan in place.

Parents accompanying children under 16 years of age

If your club is a hospitality venue any person who is under 16 years of age and who is not a fully vaccinated person must be accompanied in that part of the club by a person who is -
(a) a member of the person’s household, and
(b) a fully vaccinated person.

For Clubs - Proof of vaccination signage and guidance

From 11 October, all non-essential businesses will need people aged 16 and over to show proof of vaccination or have a medical exemption when visiting their premises.
