Instructor, Coach and Club Online Courses

Free online courses are a great opportunity for instructors, coaches and club staff and volunteers to develop their knowledge and be more effective in their role. So expand your expertise now and practice what you have learned over the upcoming summer season.

Here a summary of Australian Sailing and other generic online courses that can be found HERE.

For current or prospective instructors:

  • Instructor General Principles: to develop the fundamental skills of instructing. It is a prerequisite for attending the face-to-face training for an Australian Sailing Instructor course.
  • Tackers Online Induction: to provide the tools and knowledge to be an excellent Tackers Instructor. It is a prerequisite for delivering Australian Sailing Tackers courses.
  • OutThere Sailing Instructor Induction: to gain a greater understanding of the OTS program and its participants and to develop the skills required to effectively run OTS courses. It is a prerequisite for delivering the Australian Sailing OTS program.
  • OutThere Sailing Windsurfing Endorsement: for dinghy and keelboat instructors wanting to become an excellent OTS instructor delivering windsurfing experiences. It is a prerequisite for delivering the Australian Sailing OTS Windsurfing courses.
  • OutThere Sailing SUP Endorsement: for dinghy, keelboat and windsurfing instructors wanting to become an excellent OTS instructor delivering SUP experiences. It is a prerequisite for delivering the Australian Sailing OTS SUP courses.

For current or prospective coaches

  • Sailing Coach General Principles: to develop the knowledge and skills required to successfully coach athletes and improve their performance at regattas. It is a prerequisite for attending the face-to-face training for an Australian Sailing Coach course.

For current or prospective officials

  • Mark Laying Course: to acquire the key notions, principles and best practice to become a Mark Layer.
  • Judge Protest Committee Member: to provide a structured approach to become a Protest Committee Member and learn the correct procedures to conduct consistent, fair protest hearings and arbitration.
