New NSW/ACT GM – John Douglas

As you are no doubt aware, Emma has moved into a new role within Australian Sailing, and I have taken on the GM role. I have visited a few clubs over the last month and look forward to catching up with as many of you as possible over the next few months. Please reach out if you have any concerns or questions or if you would like me to visit.

I am very much looking forward to helping your clubs grow and help in any way possible.

Participation Programs and Resources

Participation Programs are key to facilitating and growing membership, as they focus on retaining and developing sailors, coaches, and volunteers, and are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing clubs and class associations to adapt to how people choose to participate.

Active Kids Vouchers

As many of you would be aware, there have been some stumbling blocks in applying to become a provider of Active Kids Vouchers in 2024, this has been communicated to you via email. However, I am pleased to inform you that the process has now been changed and the process has been simplified.

It is important that your applications are done ASAP. Please be aware that you must register for the new Active Kids Voucher Program, regardless of if you have been previously registered. If you encounter an issue with the ABN as referenced above, you should still submit the application and Service NSW will reach out to source the alternative documentation detailed above (letter, screenshot etc…).

We have begun scheduling instructor, coach, and official’s courses for the next 12 months.

NSW/ACT Event Calendar

We have refreshed the 2024 event calendar, and we ask all NSW/ACT Club to add your major events to the calendar, it helps sailors find your events and other clubs and Australian Sailing plan their events. The calendar can be found here

Updating Club Contacts

Not Receiving Official AS Communications?

When Flag Officers change roles your club account details need to be updated, without key contact details, Australian Sailing cannot contact the right people.
