How can we implement SheSails at our Club?Sail Our Way is an initiative supported by the Australian Government that aims to increase Women participating in sailing. We have a range of useful Sail Our Way resources, activities and information that Clubs can use to implement the SheSails brand at their club. Australian Sailing have also produced a range of useful Club Resources that Clubs can use to implement the SheSails brand at your Club. |
What is Sail Our Way?Sail Our Way is a part of the Play Our Way movement, one of the largest-ever investments into women's sport. Sail Our Way is supported by the Australian Government and aims to create opportunities for Women and girls to get involved in sailing. Australian Sailing, along with Clubs, communities and individuals, aims to make sailing more inclusive, accessible and inspiring than ever before. |

What should I expect from Sailing?

Do I have to be a member of a club?No. All clubs welcome people to come and give sailing a try. Most also offer options like Discover Sailing Experiences and SailPasses, so you can get involved without committing to membership straight away. |
Do I need any experience to try sailing?No experience is needed. Many SheSails activities and Discover Sailing sessions are designed for beginners, so you can learn in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll be guided by experienced sailors and instructors every step of the way. |
Can I come on my own?Absolutely. Many people come along on their own, and it’s a great way to meet others. Sailing is a very social activity, and clubs are welcoming environments where you’ll quickly feel part of the group. |
Where can I learn to sail in Australia?You can learn to sail at a Discover Sailing Centre located at clubs right across Australia. These centres offer beginner courses, workshops and social sailing opportunities for all ages and experience levels. |
