SailPass is an introductory membership that lets non-members try sailing and take part in club-sanctioned races and activities. Think of it as a short-term membership that gets you on the water without committing to a full club membership
It's for anyone new to sailing, and for experienced sailors trying out a new club. It's a way to get a feel for a club before doing a course or becoming a member
It depends on the club. Some clubs offer SailPass at a reduced cost, and others offer it free. Check your chosen club's website for pricing
Find a participating club with the SailPass Finder, then register online through that club's SailPass page. If you don't have an Australian Sailing number, you'll be asked to create one as part of registering, then select SailPass and accept the terms and conditions. Some clubs also offer registration on the day at the club, subject to availability
It's your membership number. The first time you register, you'll be emailed one, so keep it handy for future registrations. If you've forgotten yours, most clubs' SailPass pages link to a lookup
It varies. Some clubs issue a pass valid for a single day, while others, issue one valid for 12 months. Your club's page will say which applies.
Clubs set their own limits. Some allow three registrations before you're asked to join, and others allow up to 12 uses. After that, you'll need to become a club member to keep sailing.
