In 2016 Australian Sailing (AS) and the State and Territory Associations (MYA’s) agreed to embark on a process to improve the national governance structure of sailing for the long term good of the whole of the sport.
Known as “One Sailing”, AS and the MYA’s committed to provide to sailing in Australia a legal, governance and management framework that optimises the prospects of the success of the sport. As a result of this, it is Australian Sailing’s responsibility to deliver all services that were previously performed by the state bodies.
In December 2018, NSW clubs voted to wind up Yachting NSW. The AS constitution was amended to allow clubs to become voting members and clubs in NSW are now members of Australian Sailing.
A Regional Advisory Committee has been established to represent NSW clubs, which has replaced the function previously performed by the YNSW board.
