The 2023 Training in Focus - Live dates are now set and registrations are open for all Instructors, Discover Sailing Centre Principles and Training administrators to attend.

After a review of the successful Instructor Conferences in 2022 it was made loud and clear that there is a big opportunity to grow the impact of the event by making it a more practical and hands-on training day for Instructors with more ‘’doing’’ and less ‘’talking’’, and to include Discover Sailing Centre Principals and Training administrators in the event. 

Accredited Instructors who attend the Training in Focus – Live events this year, will automatically have their qualifications extended for a further 12 months, assisting to further remove the barriers to reaccreditation.

The 2023 Training in Focus - Live events will provide a great opportunity for Instructors, Discover Sailing Centre Principles and Training administrators to receive hands-on learning via workshops, practical on water activities, the opportunity to try a new discipline such as windsurfing, SUPs or Foiling and of course, plenty of time to share ideas and best practice amongst peers.

‘’Instructors, Discover Sailing Centre Principals, and Training administrators at clubs and Discover sailing Centres are vital to the growth of sailing, and often are the first point of contact for people new to our sport. To assist with getting more people on the water more often, they underpin everything," began National Participation Manager, Ian Leeson.

"The Training In Focus - Live events provide another opportunity to grow the capability and capacity of Clubs and Discover Sailing Centres across the country, in turn, ensuring that the sport is delivered safely, it is inclusive, and it is fun.''

The 2023 Training in Focus - Live dates and locations are: 

1. NT - 31st March – Darwin Sailing Club
2. WA – 14th May – Mandurah Offshore Fishing & Sailing Club
3. QLD – 8-9 July – Southport Yacht Club
4. NSW/ACT – 16th July – Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club
5. VIC – 2nd Sept - Sandringham Yacht Club
6. TAS – 10th September – Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania 
7. SA – 24th September – Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia
