The 2026 NT Sailing Awards were assessed recently with two deserving winners. These awards honour NT’s most dedicated sailors, coaches, volunteers, and clubs.

Fynn Goat was awarded 2026 Youth Sailor of the Year. Fynn was recognised for his achievements in both Wing Foil and Kite Foil racing at the numerous National & International events attended throughout the year. Most notable was his selection into the Australian Sailing Youth Team in 2026. A first for an NT sailor in any class!

Damon Smith was awarded 2026 Volunteer of the Year. Damon was recognised for his continuing contribution to sailing, especially junior sailing. Regular Minnow Squad coaching, boat maintenanceMinnow Association, boat refits for junior sailors, regular race day rescue for Minnows, lending his personal RHIB for major youth events, and maintenance of club assetssuch as the regular antifouling of the Mary Woodrow this award was well deserved.
