Royal Geelong Yacht Club (RGYC) sailors have delivered outstanding performances at the International Cadet World Championship 2025, with Jack Benyan from Jan Juc and Geelong's Louis Davis securing a remarkable third place finish in a highly competitive 79-boat fleet.

The championship, held over six days of intense racing, saw first-year helm Jack Benyan not only help secure the podium position but also claim two prestigious individual awards. The young sailor was awarded the Wilson Trophy for best helm under 16 and the Ellis Trophy for best helm under 15, highlighting his exceptional talent and promising future in the sport.

RGYC's depth of talent was evident throughout the championship, with all club boats finishing in the top half of the fleet. Charlie Stephens and Jack O'Brien delivered a strong seventh place finish, while Will Garner and Jack Jones, notably the youngest team in the entire 79-boat fleet, achieved an impressive 12th place. Grace Lochhead (Caddy) and Rohan Turaga rounded out the RGYC contingent with a solid 38th place finish.
