2026 Australian Secondary Schools Team Racing Championship a great success!

After four days of thrilling competition on Hobart's River Derwent, Hutchins Gold has claimed the 2026 Australian Secondary Schools Team Racing Championship, following an outstanding display of teamwork, strategy and skill.
Hosted by Sandy Bay Sailing Club and supported by major sponsor the Australian Maritime College, the championship brought together some of Australia's best young sailors to compete in one of the sport's most exciting discipline.
Across the four-day regatta, competitors completed 273 races in a wide range of conditions before the top four Open teams and top two all-female teams progressed to Sunday's finals series. With a strong north-westerly breeze of 20–25 knots, the finalists were tested in challenging conditions that demanded exceptional boat handling and teamwork.

North TAS Coaching Clinic, 3 – 4 October at Tamar Yacht Club, Beauty Point
This year, we are holding a coaching clinic in northern Tasmania to support young sailors. The event is open to sailors under 23 years who are members of Australian Sailing-affiliated clubs. Tamar Yacht Club has generously offered free charter of its Pacers, Optimists and ILCAs, and qualified sailing coaches are already booked for two days of training and skill development. Please promote and share this opportunity with your youth members to help ensure a successful event and support your sailors. It is a great way to start the season and get back on the water after the winter.
