Australian Sailing has recently launched The Learn to Wing Program, a new program for Discover Sailing Centres (DSCs), designed to introduce participants to the exciting discipline of wing-surfing.  

For any instructor who is interested in delivering the program at their local DSC, it couldn’t be easier, as any current Australian Sailing qualified instructor or coach who already holds a Dinghy, Windsurf, Powerboat, or Keelboat Instructor qualification or has a current Sailing Coach qualification, will be able to complete the FREE online Instructor endorsement via the links below in this article.  

After successfully completing the course online, instructors are ready to deliver the Learn to Wing Program at an accredited Discover Sailing Centre.  

The program is made up of two short courses – the full Learn to Wing Course and the Learn to Wing Experience.  

The full course is nine hours in total and can be delivered over several separate ‘’bite-sized’’ sessions, providing participants with the fundamental skills of sailing using a wing to move them along on a non-foiling board, utilising stand up paddleboards (SUP’s) or stable Windsurf boards which many clubs and centres already own.   

The Learn to Wing Experience, is the first 3.5hrs of the full course, and can be delivered either as a stand-alone experience, or as part of an OutThere Sailing offering.
