Are your qualifications up to date?

Published Wed 24 Aug 2022

With the sailing season in most States and Territories just around the corner, now is the time to ensure that your instructor and coach qualifications are in order. You can do this by logging into your mySailor Profile and checking your qualifications:

If you would like your contact details to be listed in our Instructor and Coach finder on the Australian Sailing webpage which will allow other centres and clubs to contact you if they have vacant instructing or coaching roles throughout the season, please to go the qualification tab on your mySailor Profile then click on the ‘Update Qualifications Profile’ at the top right-hand side of the page and fill in the details.

Reminders:

  • Reminder to Instructors and Coaches to ensure that their prerequisites: HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 – Provide first aid; Working with Children Check (or equivalent) and State boat/RST/marine licence are up to date on their records. If you need to update your record, please use the upload links found on the Australian Sailing Resources webpage - Update your qualifications
  • Ensure that your renewal is current and that you have no outstanding renewal invoices. To do this, log into your mySailor Profile then on the left hand side click on payment history. Ensure that is showing outstanding invoices. If you have an outstanding renewal invoice, your qualification will be inactive, and Discover Sailing Centres will not be able to add you as the instructor on their courses. In addition, you will not be covered by Australian Sailing’s insurance whilst instructing or coaching.
  • Check that your Instructor or Coach qualification has not or is not about to expire. Qualifications expire 5 years from the date of the last instructor course or instructor reaccreditation course you completed, for more information click here
