Please join us for the second instalment of the Australian Sailing Volunteers' Forum, an event open to anyone working to facilitate our sport.
This event is held in conjunction with Yachting Western Australia and hosted by Perth Dinghy Sailing Club.
This event is open to anyone supporting sailing events, including, but not limited to:
- Race Officers
- Start/finish boat personnel
- Mark layers
- Safety Boat operators/crew
- Jury members
- Protest Committee members
- Umpires
- Measurers
- Equipment Auditors
- Administrators
This event will take place at Perth Dinghy Sailing Club on Monday 9 June, from 1800 until approximately 2000. A cash bar will be available, and some food will be supplied at the conclusion of the formalities.
The purpose of this event is to educate, provide networking and mentoring opportunities, identify pathways to qualification and develop a support network.
Hear from two legends from our community, International and Olympic Measurer Barry Johnson, and America's Cup Umpire John Standley. Barry will share his vast knowledge on the role of a measurer, and how they work with the Race Committee and Race Officer at an event. John will enlighten us and share his unrivalled experience on the topic of the role of the Jury Chair at major events. We will also share an update from Australian Sailing and information on the next Professional Development opportunity, on Sunday 27 July (save the date!). Networking will also be facilitated.
An online attendance option will be facilitated, for those in regional locations or unable to attend in person. The link to join online, will be circulated prior to the Forum.
