Run the Powerboat Program at your club

Build the on-water safety capability your club depends on

Powerboat is Australian Sailing's national program for volunteers, parents, and club members, building the skills to safely operate powerboats for training, racing, and rescue duties. Delivered by clubs nationwide, it gives your centre a proven pathway to strengthen safety capability and support every other program you run.

Build a safer, more capable club on the water.

Why run the Powerboat Program

Build essential safety capability

A club can't safely run racing, training, or rescue operations without qualified powerboat drivers. This program gives you a proven pathway to build that capability in-house, rather than relying on a handful of experienced volunteers.

Engages parents & volunteers

Powerboat offers a meaningful way for parents and club members to get involved beyond the water's edge, giving them a genuine role in supporting racing, rescue, and junior programs.

Pathway to a boat license

Participants can apply their Start Powerboating certificate toward a boat licence in eligible states, giving your club a practical, real-world incentive that extends well beyond the sailing calendar.
