Sailing clubs crowned Social Champions in Social Media Awards

Social media plays a crucial role in keeping the sailing community updated and engaged with all the latest news and events from their local club. The data analysis team at Shunt tracked the main corporate accounts of over 280 Australian Sailing affiliated clubs (as well as several key event accounts) to find out which ones were the top performers on social media in 2022*.

Victorian 2022 - 23 ILCA Laser championships

Fifty four boats sailed in the 2022/2023 Victorian ILCA Laser Open and Youth Championships from Mordialloc Sailing Club on Port Phillip on the weekend of 3 and 4 December. The five scheduled races were sailed in light to moderate winds and flat seas which was a change from the tough conditions in Melbourne on preceding weekends.

Victorians return for another Festival of Sails

Bruce Taylor is what one would describe as one of the backbones of the Festival of Sails, having competed in every single one since 1979 - and he will be there again when the start gun fires on Port Phillip to send the fleet on its way in the 180th edition of the Passage Race, starting at 9.30am on Australia Day, 26 January 2023.
