Discounts on Australian Sailing Courses run in Queensland

Australian Sailing have been able to allocate some money received under a Queensland Government grant to provide discounts for Queensland clubs and members. The offer is strictly limited and will run until the end of 2019 or until the quota has been reached. Please see attached document for a list of the courses, the discount on offer, the discount code and the conditions.

The Wollongong Yacht Club plans expansion having successfully secured The Community Building Partnerships Grant

Sailing is a rapidly growing sport and recreation creating demand for more facilities. The Wollongong Yacht Club has occupied a small building at Wollongong Harbour for the last five years but it has always had limited space. On Monday Wollongong MP Paul Scully had some good news for the club when he awarded it $15,000 for the construction of an awning and pergola. “This will expand their space in the cafe area,” he said.

TP52s set to make waves at the 2019 Australian Yachting Championships

The top two TP52s from the 2018 Australian Yachting Championships will be back to defend their place at the top of the class when the 2019 version commences on Port Philip Bay on 21 January. This year’s event will be hosted by the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, and competition will be fierce with several other contenders now registered and ready to challenge.

NT Big Boat Challenge Wrap Up

Last weekend saw a fantastic two days of sailing with a variety of races and winds for the 2018 BIG Boat Regatta.  This year we had 17 boats participating across 4 divisions.  There were teams representing both DSC & DBCYA, Defence & GBC had teams chartering 3 of the Elliot 7 and there was also a WOW team aboard Cleaning Lady.
