Located on the shores of one of Australia’s largest freshwater lakes, Lake Hume, Albury Wodonga Yacht Club (AWYC) is a sailing club that offers competitive and social sailing opportunities. AWYC is a true cross border club with members from both NSW and Victoria; the club has demonstrated great resilience over the past year managing the challenges of COVID and launching a host of new social activities to reconnect and reinvigorate the club.

White Noise blitzes opposition in ORCV’s 49th King Island Race

Daniel Edwards’ White Noise has blitzed the field in the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria’s 49th Melbourne to King Island Yacht Race, taking out AMS, IRC, PHS and ORCi categories, while Paul Buchholz’s Extasea took line honours after settling into the race when the southerly eased in Bass Strait, giving all a nice ride to the finish. Winners take home King Island delights including crayfish.

America’s Cup: What’s a poster?

Historically, it was predominantly an A1 sized piece of paper, with a four-colour printed image of a sports hero, favourite band, model, movie or legend on it. You had to go to a specialist shop to get one, too, although some smaller ones were in more mundane publications that you got at the newsagency (they’re Tatt’s outlets nowadays). Sometimes there’d be a caption, but not always.

Sydney Harbour Regatta reunion and final results

Adrian Walters’ nippy Shaw 11 Little Nico, sailing for the Sydney Harbour Regatta host club, added another victory to their impressive regatta tally on day two of the weekend regatta. Divisional winners in 2016 and second in 2019 and 2017, Little Nico’s domination of the short-course format is well and truly etched in the flagship series annals.
