Winners Announced for the 2026 Australian Sailing Tasmania Awards

Last Saturday evening, Australian Sailing Tasmania hosted its annual Sailing Awards at the beautiful Maritime Museum of Tasmania in Hobart.

Once again, it was a wonderful and highly social evening, bringing together sailors, volunteers, clubs and classes from across Tasmania to celebrate the people and achievements that make our sailing community so special.

From around the world sailors to the many dedicated volunteers working behind the scenes, the evening recognised the incredible contribution and achievements of our sailing community over the past 12 months.

A huge congratulations to all of this year’s nominees and award recipients. Your passion, commitment and contribution to sailing in Tasmania are truly valued.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support, promote and grow sailing across our state. It was fantastic to come together and celebrate our Tasmanian sailing community.

Instructor of the Year –Charlotte Armstrong

Sport Professional Award –Greg Rowlings

Sport Promotion Award –Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Secondary Schools Team Racing Championship

SheSails Award –TAS ILCA Oceania Solidarity

Volunteer of the Year –Emma Hooper

Lifetime Achievement Award - Don McIndoe (posthumously awarded)

Lifetime Achievement Award – Stephen Miller

Youth Sailor of the Year –Olive Hooper

Para Sailor of the Year –Chris Symonds

Team of the Year –Hutchins Gold, The Hutchins School

Coach of the Year –Rohan Langford

Male Sailor of the Year –Tristan Gourlay

Female Sailor of the Year –Manuela Klinger

Club of the Year –Sandy Bay Sailing Club
