Victoria COVID update - 10th June 2021

Good afternoon Club Officials,

This is an email to further update you on the restrictions that will in effect from tonight at 11.59pm (Thursday 10th of June). Please note it was stressed that the intent of these restrictions is to reduce unnecessary movement to prevent the spread of the virus.

Updates are in RED below

Face coverings:

  • Must be carried at all times
  • Must be worn indoors except if at home, or if an exception applies
  • Must be worn outdoors in Metropolitan Melbourne

 

Regional Victoria

Outdoor physical recreation & sport:

  • Open
  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm
  • Maximum venue capacity 150 people, including no more than 50 indoors (staff is not included in this cap)
  • Club Rooms – Are Open – meeting requirements above
  • No venue limit if 100m distance can be maintained between groups
  • Maximum group size: 20 people

Community sport: Open for all ages, training and competition, but cannot travel intro metropolitan Melbourne (unless for work) and must be within venue caps above

  • Organised sailing may occur for all ages.

For Metro Melbourne

Outdoor physical recreation & sport:

  • Open
  • Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm
  • A maximum venue capacity: 100 people (staff is not included in this cap)
  • No venue limit if 100m distance can be maintained between groups (e.g. golf)
  • Maximum group size: 10

  • Boating (including Sailing) and Fishing is outdoor recreation permitted (within 25km of your house)
    • Multi handed boats can be used. ( max 10 people) must wear a mask where practical

  • No Organized club Racing can occur
  • Boat Maintenance and repair can occur. They must maintain physical distancing of at least 1.5 meters from others.
  • Training only, no competition permitted and 25km limit applies. Limited to the number required to participate in and facilitate activity (staff is not included in this cap)
  • This includes Discover Sailing programs.
    • They make up your venue cap
    • Must only use outdoor facilities ( no indoor training allowed)
    • Masks are required and social distancing where required
    • Training should only be open to members of you club ( no come and try programs)

Club Room – Are closed in Metropolitan Melbourne – Toilets and first aid rooms may be used. (no access to showers ). Encourage your participants to come prepared to participate in their sport

  • If you can operate under the hospitality section guidelines, then you can open – following these regulations

It is now a requirement that all indoor and outdoor physical recreation and community sport venues and facilities use the free Victorian Government QR Code Service for electronic record keeping.
