New Members Welcomed at Discover Sailing Centre - Connells Point Sailing Club

Published Thu 23 Oct 2025

The Connells Point Sailing Club Discover Sailing Centre recently opened its doors to a new group of young sailors and their families. Upon arrival, Principal Karen Branch warmly welcomed the new members and began the session with a comprehensive induction, outlining the club’s sailing programs and in-house activities.

The response from families was overwhelmingly positive, with many parents expressing their enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the club. Several have already volunteered to assist with various duties around the centre, helping to introduce the next stage of racing activities for the junior sailors.

To further keep families engaged, parents are also encouraged to participate in online e-learning modules, enhancing their understanding of the sport and strengthening their involvement in their children’s sailing journey.

One of the key highlights of the day was the excellent instructor-to-participant ratio, ensuring a safe, supportive, and informative learning environment. This approach builds young sailors’ confidence while meeting Australian Sailing standards—setting a strong foundation for future programs.

The club is focused on retaining participants and fostering a vibrant sailing community by involving parents not just as spectators but as active volunteers. It’s a great example of teamwork, learning, and community spirit both on and off the water.
