Yachting Victoria Annual General Meeting – 27th March - Online

As you are aware, Yachting Victoria Voted to deregister approximately 12 months ago. Due to an ongoing VCAT case, we have been unable to complete the final paperwork to complete the deregistration.

Due to this, Yachting Victoria is still required to complete its constitutional requirement to hold an AGM.

This meeting will also serve as a networking opportunity for clubs around Victoria to discuss any issues, concerns or achievements that should be shared.

Please find below the Notice of Meeting for the upcoming Annual General Meeting.

Date: Monday 27th March 2023

Time: 7:00 pm

Location: Online Via the Teams Platform

Register as a delegate by CLICKING HERE. Proxies may be received at the YV office until 24 hours before the meeting.

Annual Club Survey

Australian Sailing has just released our 2023 Club Survey. This is your club’s opportunity to provide feedback on your use of Australian Sailing’s programs, services, and support. We request only one response from each club so please ensure you consult with your club committee and respond accordingly.

The survey has 11 questions and should take 15-20 minutes. Individual responses to the survey will remain confidential.

The survey will be open until 5 pm AEST SUNDAY 2nd APRIL.

 Youth Sail Victoria

Victoria’s youth sailors will descend on Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club in April 2023 for the return of the Youth Sail Victoria 2023 event.

Running from 20-23 April, the event will be made up of a two-day coaching clinic on 20-21 April, followed by the Victorian Youth Championships on the 22-23 April across several junior and youth classes. The event is open sailors under the age of 23, and sailors attending will receive engaging learning and skill development opportunities, safe and fair competition, plenty of social interaction with peers and performance recognition.

Australian Sailing VIC Sailing Summits

The 2023 Sailing Summits will provide an excellent opportunity for clubs and classes to share information and ideas, allow Australian Sailing to hear directly from the community via workshops following the Club Survey and receive an update on hot topics and the Australian Sailing strategic priorities.

The 2023 Sailing Summit dates are:

  • VIC – Saturday 3rd June – Elwood Sailing Club

Child Safety

Vicsport has developed an Online Education program to assist Victorian Sporting Community in implementing and understanding the 11 Victorian Child Safe Standards.

The free and interactive program, powered by etrainu, is designed to guide sports administrators, volunteers, coaches and/or officials through the Standards.

What to expect from the Online Education Program:

  • One Standard per module - so you can delve into the content.
  • Practical, sport-based strategies and scenarios.
  • Breakdown of compliance indicators, policies and procedures.
  • Save as you go - work through the modules at your own pace!
