Are you sharing this information with your Sailing Committee and Community?
I would like to start with thanking everyone who took the time to complete and submit a nomination for the Australian Sailing TAS Awards. It is a time to celebrate our sailing community to recognise our sailors, volunteers, clubs and classes. To help make the event successful, please can you add the evening of September 13th to your calendar and register to attend the TAS Awards at the Tasmanian Maritime Museum. It is sure to be a wonderful evening and again an opportunity to socialise with like-minded people and afterwards explore the Maritime Museum. Here is the link for registration: The Tasmania Sailing Awards
Our TAS Regional Advisory Committee is currently involved in the Judging process for the Awards. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the following people who are members of the 2025/26 Regional Advisory Committee.

Good News Story for Tas!

When Australian Sailing Race Officer Presenter Ian Ross, turned up at the Derwent Sailing Squadron to present his most recent Race Officer Course he almost couldn't believe his eyes. Sat before him were six enthusiastic women from all over the state, ready to begin their journey to becoming Australia’s newest accredited Race Officers. Youth Sailing in TAS

Youth Sail TAS 2025 - YouthSail TAS
Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th October at Sandy Bay Sailing Club
With TAS YouthSail not far away, it is time to promote the event and focus on our Youth sailors. All sailors under 23 years are welcome, with Green to Advanced being catered for. This year we are making a conscious effort to really engage and encourage new sailors to come along to be part of our Green Fleet Coaching Clinic.
Led by experienced Coach Nick Neale, it will be two days of coaching full of various sailing opportunities to learn fundamental skills to build confidence and independence, meet other sailors and have a lot of fun, including sailing SB20 keelboats and meeting Olympic sailor Olivia Price!
Please encourage your sailors to attend by registering early. There are free boats available in some classes, so get in touch if you would like to book a boat.
TAS Sailing Calendar
Have you put your Club/Class events on the TAS Sailing Calendar so that everyone knows they are on? Excellent communication is the key to supporting our sailing community and this is how we can make it easier for everyone. If you require support for adding an event, please email felicity.allison@sailing.org.au
