Entries Open - Pantaenius Pittwater Regatta 2026

Published Thu 27 Nov 2025

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) is pleased to announce that entries are now open for the 2026 Pantaenius Pittwater Regatta, running from 13–15 February 2026.

Held on one of Australia’s most spectacular sailing waterways, the regatta showcases everything that makes Pittwater special: flat-water speed, rolling ocean swell just outside the Heads, sea breezes funnelling between headlands, and long downwind legs framed by the bush-covered cliffs of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. It’s sailing at its best — fast, friendly and full of moments you talk about for years.

At the heart of the weekend is the ORC NSW State Championship, supported by Sydney Marine Brokerage, delivering three full days of racing across Pittwater, Broken Bay and the offshore course area.

A Regatta with Real Character

What sets the Pittwater Regatta apart is the atmosphere. Crews push hard, sure, but the laughter afterwards is just as loud as the call at the top mark. It’s the kind of weekend where boats raft up, swap stories, relive the blink-of-an-eye moments, and make new mates.

And yes, the legendary Spinnaker Pack & Hoist Competition is back. Send it, save it, shred it, or sort it — every boat has a spinnaker tale, and this is the event that celebrates the best (and worst) of them.

Pittwater Cup

The two-day Pittwater Cup continues to draw a big fleet with ORC and PHS scoring options. It includes:

  • Grand Soleil Cup
  • Performance 40 Inter-Club Challenge Cup
  • Super 40 Series

Super 40 Series

Modern 40-footers, lively racing, plenty of pace. Passage races on Broken Bay, mixed with windward/leeward action, keep crews busy and happy.

NEW FOR 2026 – Performance 40 Teams Series

The 2026 regatta introduces the Performance 40 Teams Series, where clubs field three-boat teams for inter-club bragging rights. Designed around accessible production-style designs, it encourages more sailors to take part and brings a strong team spirit to the regatta.

A Weekend Built Around People

RPAYC prides itself on welcoming visiting crews as if they were home members. The weekend includes:

  • Three days of ORC NSW Championship racing
  • Two days of Pittwater Cup, Super 40, Grand Soleil Cup  and Performance 40 racing
  • A Friday Welcome Party and Race Briefing
  • A Saturday Crew Party
  • Sunday Presentations on the RPAYC lawn with Pittwater as the backdrop

Good boats, good breeze, good people. That’s the essence of the weekend.

Commodore’s Welcome

Commodore Robert McClelland said:

“On behalf of everyone at the Alfreds, I warmly welcome all sailors and supporters to the 2026 Pantaenius Pittwater Regatta. Over the past few years, we’ve shaped this event into something that feels like home for crews from every club.

It’s the fun, the friendships and the shared stories that keep people coming back. Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular, you’re part of the RPAYC family the moment you arrive. That’s what makes this regatta special.”
