Call For Nominations 2026

Good afternoon Club and Association Members,
In consideration of feedback received from members, the Special General Meeting proposed for 16 November has been postponed, and will be rescheduled for the New Year.
As a result, the Annual General Meeting of Yachting WA (Inc.) will be held before the end of the year.
Therefore, in accordance with Rule 32 of our Constitution, I am required to call for nominations for the Board of Yachting Western Australia.
Considering the board rotation Rule 34 (1) which states inter alia that “at the annual general meeting, the Association must elect at least half of the Ordinary Board Members”, and the above changes, the following positions will become vacant, the currently serving board members are offering to stand for re-election:

The role of one ordinary board member seeks a nomination. It remains within the strategy of the Board to have a comprehensive skills matrix and gender balance. Please note that WA Government Funding is dependent upon the Board being 50% female Directors (for Boards with an uneven number of Director positions, the final position can be male/female/other).
To summarise then, this is the call for nominations to the Board and to advise the closing date for nominations will be Friday 20 November 2026 at 17:00.
Confidential nominations together with a short biography should be submitted via email to kate.wearn@sailing.org.au. Acknowledgement of receipt will be confirmed.
I also advise the Members that the 2026 AGM will be held on Monday 14 December 2026, from 18:00 in the Australian Sailing WA meeting room, located at Royal Perth Yacht Club, with the Notice of Annual General Meeting being dispatched on or before Monday 23 November 2026.
