Become involved with SA’s newest sailing class, Kiteboarding!

Published Tue 08 Dec 2020

Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to become involved with
South Australia’s newest sailing class, Kiteboarding!

Kiteboarding, has recently become one of the key sailing disciplines at the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games, as such, an agreement between Kiteboarding Australia and Australian Sailing means that we now have the opportunity in South Australia to create a kiteboard racing program at some of the states sailing clubs, and anyone with existing dinghy sailing skills will find that many of their skills will easily cross over to Kiteboarding, and they pick up the discipline very quickly.

Over the winter we have been working hard on a pilot program in collaboration between Largs Bay Sailing Club, and Ride Kitesurfing school, to deliver a suit of opportunities over this season and beyond.

We are now pleased to present the fist steps into becoming involved with kiteboard racing with in the state:

  • Subsidised Kiteboarding lessons delivered in weekly blocks by Ride Kitesurfing at Largs bay Sailing Club.
    • Information & Registration: coming soon

  • Kite Foil Launch Camp aimed at existing Kiteboarders and delivered by Australian Sailing, in conjunction with Ride Kitesurfing, Largs Bay Sailing Club and Kiteboarding South Australia.

  • Regular Kiteboard Racing Program delivered by Largs Bay Sailing Club:
    • Details coming soon!

If you have an interest in trying kiteboarding, then I would hight recommend that you register for the come & try session… You never know where your interest could take you!
