Australian Sailing has released the South Australian Instructor and Coach course dates for 2026, providing a range of training and professional development opportunities for the South Australian sailing community.

The 2026 schedule offers courses delivered across South Australia, supporting clubs, Discover Sailing Centres, and individuals to maintain high quality instruction and coaching standards. The program reflects Australian Sailing’s commitment to building a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that delivers safe, inclusive, and engaging sailing experiences.

Instructor courses available in South Australia in 2026 will focus on core teaching skills, safety and risk management, session planning, and participant engagement. These courses are suitable for new instructors entering the pathway, as well as experienced instructors seeking accreditation or refresher training.
Coach courses will support coaches working across participation, club racing, and performance environments. The Coach pathway emphasises athlete development, effective communication, training design, and long term development principles aligned with Australian Sailing’s national coaching framework.

In addition to accredited courses, Australian Sailing will offer an extra professional development opportunity through Training in Focus LIVE, to be held on Sunday 23 August at the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia. This live development session is open to Instructors, Coaches, and Discover Sailing Centre Principals and will focus on contemporary training practices, sharing ideas, and supporting continuous improvement across clubs and centres.

All courses and development sessions will be delivered by accredited Australian Sailing Senior Instructors and Coaches using a combination of practical, on-water learning and supported learning components in the Australian Sailing Learning Centre.

Registrations for South Australian Instructor and Coach courses are now opened, as well as Training in Focus LIVE, opening soon. Places are limited, and early registration is encouraged.
