54 Clubs Awarded Sail Our Way Grants in Round 2
Published Wed 20 May 2026
Australian Sailing is thrilled to announce that 54 Sailing Clubs and Class Associations across Australia have been successful in receiving a Round 2 Sail Our Way grant, continuing the momentum to grow women’s and girls’ participation in sailing nationwide.
Following a highly successful first round, the Round 2 recipients represent Clubs and Class Associations from across the country, with funding supporting the delivery of female-focused sailing initiatives between May and December 2026.
Funded through the Department of Health and Aged Care’s Play Our Way initiative, the Sail Our Way Participation Grant Program supports welcoming and accessible opportunities that encourage women and girls to try sailing, build confidence, develop skills and foster long-term involvement in the sport.
The funded projects include introductory sailing experiences, coaching programs, leadership and mentoring initiatives, and participation activities, demonstrating the strong commitment across the sailing community to creating more inclusive pathways into the sport.
The program places a particular focus on supporting women and girls from:
• Low socio-economic backgrounds
• Culturally and linguistically diverse communities
• Regional and remote areas
• LGBTQ+ communities
• People with disability
