50 years and counting – Ronstan renews partnership with Australian Sailing

Published Wed 10 Feb 2021

Australian Sailing is thrilled to announce Ronstan will be continuing their partnership with Australian Sailing and the Australian Sailing Team.

The world leading sailboat hardware manufacturer has been in partnership with Australian Sailing and the Australian Sailing Team (AST) for over fifty years and will continue their support having signed a new four-year agreement.

Ronstan believes they owe much of their success to their close ties with sailing’s elite athletes and teams.  “There are two key benefits to sponsoring the AST: the promotional value and the technical value,” says Peter Dowdney, Australasian Sales Manager and member of Ronstan’s ownership group.

“As a business that is creating at the cutting edge of sailing, the best testing we can do is put our product in the hands of top athletes in the field.  Having them critique and report on the products gives us an incredible head start in creating the next generation of products for sailing.”

CEO of Australian Sailing, Ben Houston, said he is delighted to see the longstanding relationship continue.

“Ronstan and Australian Sailing have been in partnership for over half a century. We have already gotten great value from Ronstan in our preparation for Tokyo and we are thrilled to know that they will be on board with us through Paris in 2024. With the Games fast approaching it is great to see our Australian sailors competing with the best Australian sailing fittings.”

In this Olympic year, Ronstan are looking forward to the AST showcasing Australia’s best sailing talent and hopefully bringing home gold with the help of their equipment.

“In recent years the best thing about being involved with the AST has been being a part of such a successful unit,” Dowdney said.  “From our standpoint as a sponsor, if you are putting money into something you are investing and expecting a return from it.  You can’t hope for more than Olympic success.”

The partnership will see the two teams working together up until at least the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
