Australian Sailing NSW/ACT is looking to run a Club Umpire Course in conjunction with the upcoming Elliot 7 Series at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron.

The Elliot 7 Series has been established to re-engage sailors and encourage new participation in the sport, particularly in the transition beyond youth sailing. 

To help address this, RSYS has launched a series that alternates between Fleet Racing and Match Racing, providing sailors with continued opportunities to compete and develop their skills. Also aiming for the series to be a Grade 5 Match Racing event, helping sailors build and maintain their skipper rankings and providing them with opportunities to compete in other Match Racing events should they wish to pursue them.

As part of the series, we plan to run a Club Umpire Course to support the development of officials and provide participants with an opportunity to gain practical umpiring experience.

Proposed dates are: 

Match Racing: 31 October 

Theory 8:30-11:45

On-water practical 12:15-18:00 

Fleet Racing: 5 December 

Theory 8:30-11:45

On-water practical 12:15-18:00
