Course Overview
The FoilLAB Coaches Course is a one-day, face-to-face program designed to develop coaches who will lead the next generation of sailors. Focused on the fundamentals of foiling—particularly what happens beneath the water—the course provides a clear, engaging approach to coaching this evolving discipline. By equipping coaches with modern coaching practices, it ensures they can create the best learning environments for skill progression while strengthening the capacity of clubs and class associations to deliver high-quality participation programs.

Who should do this course? 
Accredited Sailing Coaches or accredited Instructors aged 18 or older with a Safety Boat Operator certificate. Ideal candidates have exceptional personal standards, strong knowledge and competence in foiling classes, a passion for coaching, and a commitment to developing others in the foiling discipline.

Course Outcome  

This course equips coaches with the skills and knowledge to effectively coach participants in:

  • Body Intelligence – Understanding and applying body awareness in foiling.
  • Foiling Fundamentals – Core principles of foiling mechanics.
  • Body-Foil Interaction – The relationship between body movement and foil dynamics.
  • Managing Unstable Foiling Environments – Safely introducing instability in a controlled, progressive setting.

Successful completion of the course, along with meeting all program requirements, leads to accreditation.
