Course Overview
The State Race Officer Re-accreditation Seminar is aimed at educating Australian Sailing members in advanced principles to conduct consistent, fair and safe championship racing.
State Race Officers play an important role in sailing by enabling higher level competition through conducting quality racing for championship events.
To become accredited as an Australian Sailing State Race Officer you are required to:
- Be a member of an Australian Sailing affiliated club.
- Attend an Australian Sailing National Race Officer Seminar, or
- Passed the State Race Officer Exam with a State level score or more, or
- Provide a log showing you have acted as a Race Officer in at least four events, or
- Have passed the State Race Officer Performance Assessment in the past four years.
If you wish to accredit via submitting prior evidence that meets the above requirements please complete the National Race Officer Re-accreditation Application Form. When completing the form please upload any Word, Excel or other documents in PDF format.
Registration at the top of this page allow you to enrol in an available Accreditation Seminar.
Attendees are asked to bring to the seminar:
- Their online edition of the 2021-2024 Racing Rules of Sailing.
- Notepad and pen (or lap top/notebook).

Currently Qualified as an Australian Sailing State Race Officer.
Course Price
The cost of the seminar is $155.00 (The Officials polo is no longer provided).
Who should do this course?
This course is for anyone looking to reaccredit their State Race Officer qualification and continue to volunteer as an official at Club and State level events.
Course Outcome
Participants will become re-accredited as a State Race Officer; an individual in charge of all on water activities at club or singular championship course and manages all associated race officials and volunteers.
