Course Overview
The National Race Officer Re-accreditation Course is aimed at updating Australian Sailing members in advanced principles to conduct consistent, fair and safe championship racing.
National Race Officers play an important role in sailing by enabling higher level competition through assisting the regatta planning process and conducting quality racing for championship events.
To become re-accredited as an Australian Sailing National Race Officer you are required to meet the Race Officer Accreditation Policy criteria by:
- Being a member of an Australian Sailing affiliated club.
- Attending an Australian Sailing National Race Officer Seminar, or
- Passing the National Race Officer Exam with a National level score or more, or
- Providing a log showing you have acted as a Race Officer in at least four National (or three State and two National) level events, or
- Passing the National Race Officer Performance Assessment in the past four years.
If you wish to accredit via submitting prior evidence that meets the above requirements please complete the National Race Officer Re-accreditation Application Form. When completing the form please upload any Word, Excel or other documents in PDF format.
Registration at the top of this page allow you to enrol in an available Accreditation Seminar.
Attendees are asked to bring to the seminar:
- Their online edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing.
- Notepad and pen (or lap top/notebook).

Currently Qualified as an Australian Sailing National Race Officer.

The cost of the seminar is $155.00 (The Officials polo is no longer provided).
Who should do this course?
This course is for anyone looking to reaccredit their National Race Officer qualification and continue to volunteer as an official at Club,State and National level events.
Course Outcome
Participants will become re-accredited as a National Race Officer; The individual responsible for all on water activities at a championship, on-course Race Officers, all associated race officials and volunteers. Can successfully work with club staff, regatta scoring/handicapping.
