Australian Sailing has an opportunity for YOU to complete your RST theory assessment for $70 at the 2021 WA Teacher's Games.

Ordinarily retailing at over $200 per person, Australian Sailing will be covering the cost of practical training and assessment with one of our Australian Sailing assessors after the Teacher's Games to complete the Recreational Skipper's Ticket application process.

The RST is a qualification based on a set of competencies that have been adopted by all government marine safety authorities in Australia to contribute and to promote:

• the safe use of waterways.
• an awareness of boating safety.

It is the minimum qualification needed to operate a powerboat in Western Australia. The assessment of these competencies is in two sections: theory and practical.

The minimum age to obtain a RST is 14 years old. A person requires a RST if they are to be the skipper of a vessel powered by an engine of more than 6hp.
