Foundation Coach

Foundation Coach Program

The aim of becoming a Foundation Coach is to deliver the best learning environment in Green Fleet Programs for any class of boat, board or discipline and act as an assistant Sailing Coach to deliver Intermediate and Advanced Programs. The Foundation Coach accreditation is the first step in your pathway as a Coach.

The Foundation Coach accreditation has no expiry. Your accreditation will automatically renew when you renew your other Instructor or Coach accreditations.

Baseline Requirements

Foundation Coach

Prior to commencing this accreditation, you must ensure you have already met the below criteria:

  • 16+ years of age
  • Possess an Instructor accreditation (any discipline)

Green Fleet Coach Masterclass

Delivery: Online
Length: 1 hour study time

Overview
This course will equip you with the knowledge needed to gain the Foundation Coach accreditation, and will build on your experience as an accredited instructor in Dinghy, Keelboat, Powerboat, or Windsurf programs.

To access your elearning courses, if required for your discipline, please follow the steps below:

  3. Click the Coaches & Instructors tile.
  4. Find and complete your respective elearning.

Required Face-to-face Course

The Foundation Coach accreditation does not require you to attend and complete a Face-to-face course. Once you have met all Baseline Requirements and completed the elearning required above, you have met the criteria for obtaining this accreditation.

Once the elearning has been completed, Australian Sailing will automatically provide you with your accreditation.


Accreditation & Reaccreditation

A coaches accreditation starts when they receive their confirmation email and certificate from Australian Sailing. The requirements for accreditation and reaccreditation are explained in the table below.

   Note: If your accreditation expired more than 12 months ago, or if you can’t demonstrate your currency through recent practice, you may need to complete a practical reaccreditation session. We will contact you if this is required.
