Entry for the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SSORC) is open and along with the Notice of Race, can be found online at the official site, with some competitors already preparing to rekindle old rivalries when Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s (MHYC) 45th running of the annual event is held on 26 and 27 November.
There are many possible ways to encourage women to try out and continue to participate in the sport of sailing. The Richmond River Sailing and Rowing Club, in the small Northern NSW town of Ballina has discovered a unique and highly successful way to do that. After cancelling two years of CitySail during the pandemic, we came back in 2022 with a vengeance. Broadly supported by Australian Sailing, the event included 52 entries and 67 sailors.
This years’ Instructor Conference was conducted by Australian Sailing’s Chris Jones, Ian Leeson and Laila Grafton along with local Senior Instructors Greg Brooks (Keelboat Instructor), Greg Rowlings (Dinghy Instructor), Scott Ragg (Powerboat Instructor), Jess Sabin (Dinghy Instructor) delivered the 2022 Tasmanian Instructor Conference.
Active Kids Grants are available for volunteer-run community clubs and organisations with members aged 20 or younger. Grants will be awarded in the form of free sports equipment and on-field or training uniforms, to be supplied by ASF partners HART Sport and ISC.
