ORCV introduces an initiative of the King Island Rally

For 48 years, the ORCV has been racing to King island to enjoy the delights and warm hospitality of the King Island Boat Club. This year, a Rally has been added which is designed to build confidence via experience and is wrapped with all the support of the ORCV race management and experienced support boat.

New Judge Policy Update

The new Australian Sailing Judge Accreditation Policy is now active and its resources are available from the Australian Sailing website. The new policy contains changes to the Australian Sailing’s Judge qualification structure, qualification requirements, assessment and training resources. Goolwa Regatta Week

Once upon a time there were two old salts who constantly argued as to who had the fastest boat on the river. The two were colourful characters, the late Bill Appleby and the late Bill Ballard and their yachts Esther and Edith. To settle the argument a decent race was planned and sailed from Goolwa to Milang on 27th December 1966.

Darwin Harbour is 5 x bigger than Sydney Harbour, has 8m tides, a sandbar in the middle (a great picnic spot) and is a commercial shipping port making some interesting racing when Harbour Courses are scheduled.
