With restrictions around the country beginning to relax and clubs preparing to re-open, Australian Sailing has developed a guide to help clubs identify and manage the risks in a COVID-19 environment.
Sunday the 24th of May saw the announcement of further easing of restrictions in Victoria starting on the 1st of June. Australian Sailing continues to work with the Victorian Government to gain clarity on the interpretation of these restrictions and to put sailing at the fore front of their mind.
As mentioned in this afternoon’s webinar, we have finally received further information from the Queensland Government. The Queensland Government have established a website which features up-to-date information via www.covid19.qld.gov.au/returntoplay
Australian Sailing has been working with state government agencies to clarify what the restrictions at various levels mean for sailing in each jurisdiction, what activities are permitted and how this impacts clubs.
From Friday 15th May 2020 the Queensland Government’s “Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions - A step-down approach to COVID-19†will take effect. Australian Sailing welcomes these relaxations and thanks the Queensland Government for providing the framework.
Australian Sailing is working with a number of government agencies to gain clarity around the easing of COVID-19 restrictions in Victoria starting at midnight Tuesday the 12th May. We are also working on back to sailing and work protocols that will help guide clubs through the easing of restrictions.
This coming Friday Play By The Rules are hosting the first Post COVID-19 Community Sports Forum - a live streamed event designed to help in the rebuilding of community sport post COVID-19.
