Expressions of Interest - Australian Match Racing Championships

Australian Sailing (AS) is seeking Expressions of Interest from affiliated clubs to host the following events

The AS events are -

• Australian Youth Match Racing Championships
• Australian Women's Match Racing Championships

Incorporating these events into a Grade 3 Match Racing regatta a club is already running will be considered as long as there are no conflicting event sponsors.

Key Points

• The Regattas are an AS owned event.
• The Host Club will be the Regatta Organising Authority (OA), working on behalf of and with AS
• The Regatta should be the only major event being conducted at the club at the time
• It can be run in conjunction with a Match Racing event already in the Club's calendar
• The Regatta will be open to up to 12 skippers (depending on the number of boats available at the Host Club)
• World Sailing Grade 3 (Subject to review by WS)
• Expression of Interest to skippers will be based on the AS Match Racing Championship Conditions of Conduct

Financials - The host club will be responsible for:

• Setting the event entry fee (subject to approval from AS) and receiving all proceeds
• Event welcome and presentation functions
• Any revenue and costs for food and beverage sales associated with the event be responsible for any food and bar sales associated with the event
• Writing the NOR and SI using the current AS/WS Template
• Event website management
• All communications to competitors
• Applying for Grading with World Sailing and completing the Grading form after the event
• Follow the Australian Sailing Conditions of Conduct for Match Racing Championships
• Supply and pay for –
  • All Race management and officiating costs including vessels, fuel, travel and accommodation, if applicable.
  • Event media (including race reports, social media and photography)
  • Volunteer lunches and refreshments
  • Any volunteer apparel (if applicable)
  • All venue, facility, permit, results system and other operational costs
• Other costs as agreed between the host club and AS
