Governance Evaluations
Embedded systems of internal review to foster continuous improvement.
The Australian Sailing board has committed to having an appropriate system of internal controls to enable it to monitor performance, track progress against strategy and address issues of concern. This includes regularly evaluating its performance and the performance of the chairperson.
The evaluation process helps the board:
- Understand good practice governance
- Evaluate their effectiveness and performance against strategic goals
- Identify any skills gaps and opportunities for development and improvement
The Governance Evaluation survey is provided only to directors to self assess. The responses will be collated and analysed, and the results will be provided in a comprehensive report which includes recommended actions for the board based on directors' contributions. Individual responses are held confidentially.
The Governance Evaluation survey covers two elements:
- The board
- The chairperson
