Course Overview

An intensive course covering all aspects of the Australian Sailing Safety and Sea Survival course (World Sailing Personal Offshore Survival Techniques). This course includes course development, delivery techniques, professional development and liferaft practical drills and a day training with Westpac Helicopter Rescue. Participants will be assessed in their delivery of one or more classroom sessions.

Course Prerequisites: 

  • First-Aid qualification
  • Long-Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (formerly known as a Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency)
  • Current Safety and Sea Survival Certificate
  • Extensive Ocean / heavy weather sailing experience
  • A passion for safety at sea

This course is for those wanting to instruct the Australian Sailing Safety & Sea Survival course. The ideal candidates will me meet the prerequisites and have a teaching/training/instructing background.

Course Outcome

Pending your success, you will gain the Australian Sailing Safety & Sea Survival Instructor Qualification, that will allow you to instruct at an accredited Australian Sailing Safety & Sea Survival Training Centre.
