Australian Sailing Hub is a free app designed to give instructors at Discover Sailing Centres easy access to the tools and resources they need, all in one place.

From ready-made session plans and practical skills to instructional videos, learning resources and team communication tools, the Hub makes it easier to prepare, deliver and stay connected.

Everything you need to deliver great sessions

Australian Sailing Hub brings everything instructors need into one easy-to-use app, making it easier to find practical skills, plan sessions and discover fresh ideas to take straight onto the water.

Instructors can explore easy-to-follow skills across the Discover Sailing Programs, supported by bite-sized videos and animations that demonstrate how each skill is delivered. These can also be shared from a mobile device to a larger screen, creating an even better learning experience for participants.

With practical resources and fresh ideas at your fingertips, you can spend less time searching for content and more time creating fun, engaging experiences that help participants build skills, confidence and a lasting love of sailing.

Learn and develop as an instructor

Australian Sailing Hub isn't just about what to deliver — it also supports instructors with how to deliver it.

The dedicated Learn section provides best-practice resources and practical guidance covering key areas of sailing instruction, safety and effective delivery.

Whether preparing for a session, refreshing knowledge or developing new skills, instructors can access bite-sized learning resources to build their confidence both on and off the water.

Practical tools to make delivery easier

Beyond skills, sessions and learning resources, Australian Sailing Hub includes practical tools to help instructors and Discover Sailing Centre teams stay organised and connected.

Built-in Team Chat makes it easy to communicate and share updates, while Team Schedule helps coordinate upcoming sessions, manage availability and respond to events through RSVPs.

With planning, learning and team communication all in one place, the Hub helps make the day-to-day delivery of sailing sessions simpler and more efficient.

Australian Sailing Hub is powered by CoachMate and available free from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Frequently asked questions

1. Tap Manage Team.
2. In the drawer that appears, tap Add sailor.

1. Tap the icon displaying your first-name initial.
2. Select My Profile.
3. Tap the pen icon to edit your profile.

If your app store region is set to a country other than Australia, the AU Sailing App may not appear. You may need to change your store region to Australia, subject to Apple’s or Google’s eligibility requirements.

iPhone or iPad - Apple App Store

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Media & Purchases, then Country/Region.
  3. Select Australia and tap Continue.
  4. Accept the terms and follow the prompts to enter your payment and billing details.

You may need to spend any remaining account balance and cancel subscriptions that prevent a region change. Family Sharing membership may also affect eligibility. See Apple’s guide to changing your country or region.

Android - Google Play Store

  1. Open the Google Play Store and tap your profile icon.
  2. Go to Settings → General → Account and device preferences → Country and profiles.
  3. Select Australia and follow the prompts to add an Australian payment method.

You must be in Australia and have an Australian payment method to set up the region. Restrictions apply if you belong to a Google family group or recently changed countries. Changes can take up to 48 hours. See Google’s guide to changing your Play country.

Profile pictures are currently pulled from Gmail accounts. Uploading a profile picture directly in the AU Sailing App is not currently supported.

1. With the relevant team selected, tap Manage Team.
2. In the drawer that appears, tap Team members.
3. Select the member whose role you want to change.
4. Tap the three-dot menu.
5. Select Change team role.

1.    Navigate to the Practise screen.
2.    Tap New Session in the top-right corner.
3.    Create your custom session by editing the title and adding the skills you want to focus on from the library.
4.    Your new session will appear under Custom Sessions on the Practise screen.
5.    You can then add your custom session to any practise you create in the Schedule screen.
