Are you sharing this information with your Sailing Committee and Community?

Thank you to everyone who attended the two Sailing Summits. We had twenty clubs and five classes represented and both events were well received. Some of the key points that came from the days were:

  1. Developing more interest in sailing keelboats
  2. Ensuring that all clubs collaborate to support major events around the state
  3. Encouraging and retaining youth members

These points were discussed and noted and will be a focus for the AS Regional Advisory Committee over the next 12 months.

Our next Australian Sailing event is the Official’s Workshop at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania on Sunday 10th August. Australian Sailing invites accredited officials and those interested in officiating to attend the 2025 Officials Workshops. These interactive workshops will bring together officials from all disciplines and are a great way to network with your peers, develop your officiating skills, and discuss best practice and recent developments.

A focus for the event is developing mentoring capability to help current officials bring up the next generation. Ashley Ross, internationally recognised mentor and coach developer, will facilitate these sessions.  Registration is free, so register early.

Regional Advisory Committee nominations are open until 14th June. AS TAS is looking for people who are keen and motivated to support the sailing community. If you would like to know more, please contact AS TAS .
