Australian Sailing Legends Inducted into the Hall of Fame

The latest group of inductees will join the likes of the America’s Cup Team of Australia II and Kay Cottee AO who were inaugural inductees in to the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame last year. The new inductees speak to the rich history of the sport in Australia, with Olympic, offshore and industry heroes amongst them.

Female sailors shine at 2018 Australian Sailing Awards

Wendy Tuck, who this year became the first female skipper to ever win a round the world yacht race, has scooped the pool at this year’s Australian Sailing Awards. Tuck took out the top honour in winning the Female Sailor of the Year as well as bagging the inaugural Offshore Sailor of the Year award for her efforts in leading Sanya Serenity Coast to victory in the Clipper Round the World Race in July.

Big Australian contingent, ranging in age from 13 to 93, set for 2018 Hansa Class World & International Championships Hiroshima,

A large Australian contingent of 66 competitors and volunteers is finalising arrangements to compete in the Hansa Class World & International Championships, Hiroshima, Japan, from 12-18 October.  22 countries will be competing, involving some 180 sailors plus a number of volunteers, including carers. The Aussies are very hopeful of scoring a swag of medals.

Steady breeze brings on the action on day two of the NSW Youth Championships

The steady conditions opened the doors for some spectacular racing across all classes on day two of the NSW Youth Championships presented by Lake Macquarie City Council. With only a few minor course changes the race officials squeezed in four races across all courses to make up for the races lost from day one due to the strong winds.

James Hodgson, Harry Hall, Ryan Wilmot and Charlie Gundy have crushed the Final Day of the Australian Match Racing Championship, to defeat the previously unbeaten DownUnder Racing, 3-1 in the Finals Series to become Australia's newest National Champion after gear failure on Price's boat in Race 4.

Freshwater finish to saltwater series at Hamilton Island Race Week 2018

Fifteen divisions, 233 boats and close to 2,000 sailors from Australia, New Zealand and around the world spent Hamilton Island Race Week in the Whitsundays dashing around tropical islands with only saltwater hitting the decks, until the final afternoon rainstorm offshore broke the sunny and dry winter spell.
