Round 3 of RS Feva Women and Girls Participation Program Opens

Published Thu 23 Apr 2026

Australian Sailing has announced the opening of Round 3 of the RS Feva Women and Girls Participation Project, continuing efforts to increase participation and strengthen pathways for women and girls in sailing.

Delivered in partnership with Sailing Raceboats and funded through the Australian Government’s Play Our Way program, the initiative is designed to support clubs in delivering inclusive and accessible programs by providing subsidised equipment to Discover Sailing Centres (DSCs).

Through the project, Australian Sailing and Sailing Raceboats are subsidising over 30 per cent of the cost of each RS Feva. Successful applicants will be able to purchase a boat at a subsidised price of $10,249.30 (incl. GST), plus freight (RRP $15,399).

New for Round 3, DSCs will also have the opportunity to apply for RS Zest boats, expanding the range of equipment available to support entry-level participation and progression pathways. Successful applicants will be able to purchase an RS Zest at a subsidised price of $8,680 (RRP $12,400), with each package supplied ready to sail, including a trolley, spars, foils, mainsail, jib pack and top cover.

Beyond the equipment subsidy, participating clubs will have access to further support to help grow participation and capability, including coaching clinics, webinars, training resources and marketing support.

Applications for Round 3 open on Thursday 23 April 2026 and will close on 30 June 2026, with a limited number of boats available. Applications for Round 3 can be submitted via the link HERE

The RS Feva class offers both social and competitive opportunities and plays a key role in supporting sailors transitioning into double-handed sailing. DSCs involved in earlier rounds of the program are already seeing positive outcomes. Three clubs have made strong use of the opportunity and are reporting growth in their junior programs, along with an increase in girls’ participation and retention through targeted initiatives.

Dan Smith from Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron said:

“RS Feva is in a really positive position for growth in Australia, with a strong international foundation and increasing local momentum. The class offers a clear, exciting pathway for youth sailors stepping into double-handed racing, and that’s starting to gain recognition.”

The full case study is available here.

DSCs are encouraged to apply and consider how the RS Feva can enhance their existing programs and support long-term participation pathways for women and girls, with applications to be submitted ahead of the closing date.
