Olivia Price

Next in the lineup of Keynote Speakers for this year’s SheSails Leadership Conference is Olympic Silver Medallist and co-skipper of the Team Australia Challenge for the inaugural Women's America's Cup in 2024, Olivia Price.

Olivia was born in 1992 and began sailing as a child in 1999. She started sailing on the ISAF World Cup Women’s Match Racing Tour in 2008 and, at 16 years of age, remained the youngest woman on the tour for many years.

By 2010 she had reached the #1 rank as bowman in ISAF Women’s World Ranking’s, also winning the gold medal at the 2010 ISAF World Cup in Weymouth. 2010 was a very successful year for Olivia as she also claimed the 2010 Australian National Open Match Racing Championship as crew and 2010 Australian Women’s Match Racing Champion as skipper.

In 2011, Olivia turned her focus to skippering, teaming up with Lucinda Whitty and Nina Curtis to take 3rd place in the ISAF World Cup. She then became the youngest sailor to win an Olympic medal taking silver in London 2012. The following year she was included in the prestigious Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship and Mentoring Program, here she was mentored by 1983 America’s Cup winning Skipper John Bertrand.

Olivia is currently campaigning in the 49erFX class for the Paris Olympics and recently won a bronze medal at the 2023 Allianz World Sailing Championships along with teammate Evie Haseldine. She is also leading the Team Australia Challenge for the 2024 Women’s America’s Cup, along with fellow 2012 Olympic team-mate Nina Curtis.

“There are now more opportunities for young and female sailors than when I was going up through the classes, which is exciting to see. This is why I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience,” said Price.

“Women’s sailing in Australia has the potential to explode and it’s an exciting time to be a sailor.”

We are very much looking forward to hearing about Olivia’s journey at the conference and the increasing pathways that are available for women in sailing.
