Australian Sailing, with the support of Swan River Sailing and Premier Events, has FOUR opportunities for YOU to complete your Recreational Skippers Ticket theory assessment for $70 at the 2019 Club Marine Perth International Boat Show.

Opportunities to complete a discounted practical session for $115 with one of our Australian Sailing assessors will be available after the show.

The Recreational Skippers Ticket (RST) is a qualification based on a set of competencies that have been adopted by all government marine safety authorities in Australia to contribute and to promote:

  • the safe use of waterways
  • an awareness of boating safety

It is the minimum qualification needed to operate a powerboat in Western Australia. The assessment of these competencies is in two sections: theory and practical.

The minimum age to obtain an RST being 14 years. A person requires a RST if they are to be the skipper of a vessel powered by an engine of more than 6hp.
