With the Team Australia Challenge (TAC) confirmed to race in the Youth and Women’s America’s Cup in Barcelona 2024, local organisers have been receiving expressions of interest from around the country online – with the application period due to close on May 31st.
Volunteers are incredible and essential members of our sailing community and deserve to be recognised for their hard work and commitment. It is important that volunteers feel both valued and valuable, so we have compiled some ideas around volunteer recognition strategies that you may wish to utilise at your club or class association.
On Friday 5th May, Making Waves Queensland took delivery of their latest program yacht “The Tribe” (a Farr 40) which was trucked all the way from South Australia, with Federal Member for Bonner Ross Vasta MP, Julian Martin, CEO of Making Waves and Operations Manager Wendy Tuck, on hand to celebrate the arrival.
There was something for everyone at this year's Sailing Summit, with Australian Sailing President Alistair Murray AM and CEO Ben Houston in attendance on day one, providing a full update on Australian Sailing's plan to continue supporting clubs and growing the sport of Sailing.
Competition was close last weekend in one of Queensland's most popular women's sailing events, the 2023 Mooloolaba Women’s Keelboat Regatta. The event has gone from strength to strength, having won the 2022 National SheSails award for outstanding contribution to women’s sailing.
